"Jesus Piece" by the Game - Le Donne

I am generally interested in a narrow slice of rap and this narrow slice does not normally include Christian-themed rap. So I am not quite sure what to think of this.

Are there any informed opinions out there in Jesusland?

  1. Cool, thanks for the heads-up. I don't know what to think either. I like it. I think it could be used for good. Maybe somebody will listen and think, Hey, Game goes to church, maybe I could try again. A tree will be known by its fruit, I guess we'll see what comes of it. I listened to The Game in high school and this is a major improvement, he's confessing what his music once worshiped. Does seem like some honest confession in the album.

  2. Edit: many of the other tracks on the album have really nothing to do with Jesus and much to do with the same old stuff.

  3. I, too, am a fan of the non Christian-themed rap. I wrote an essay for Tom Thatcher's class on the apocalyptic themes (i.e., a hope for a better future) in Kanye West's music. This could have some connection to those same themes, perhaps the Game is building on something in this album. It is certainly better than most of the Christian-themed rap out there.
