Do consult Ben Ollenburger's trenchant critique of Stendahl's meant/means dichotomy.
ReplyDeleteI plan a post on Stendahl's critics.
DeleteI assume you're referring to "What Krister Stendahl 'Meant'-A Normative Critique of 'Descriptive. Biblical Theology,'" Horizons in Biblical Theology 8 (1986): 61-98? I have not read this article, so perhaps you could discuss why you've recommended it.
