Over at Judy’s
research blog, Judy Redman offers some comments on my monograph, Jesus’ Literacy. She provides some examples from her own life
where her literacy in a given language is open to various perceptions,
sometimes giving the impression that she has more literate ability than she
actually has. What I appreciate
especially about her comments is that they illustrate perfectly one of the main
points of the book—the context in which one judged literate abilities played a
role.
