Now if the blue jays win the world series that would really be a miracle! as an aside, some players will make the sign of the cross before batting, or point to the sky if they hit a home run. not that I am against this, but will this really help them to play better??
This is the dilemma of the star catcher signed to a long-term big money contract. You sign the contract because the most difficult thing to find in baseball is a good catcher with exceptional offensive production. Then you want to move the catcher to another defensive position, because you're afraid he won't hold up at catcher over the term of the contract. The catcher ends up playing first base, the easiest position to fill in baseball, where his value to the team is reduced.

Of course, I will refer you to Bull Durham on such matters.

sorry, never saw Bull Durham!
DeleteIf life is going well for you, then so long as it goes well, don't see the movie. Never mess with a winning streak.
DeleteTwo words: Posey + extension.
ReplyDeleteGlory!
I'm not as excited as most SF fans on this one. But that is the subject for another blog.
DeleteYou will need to explain yourself and I ask that you do it without saying the words "Joe Mauer."

DeleteThough I'm a Tigers fan, my eschatological theory is that Jesus will not return until the Cubs win the World Series.
