...and in case you're wondering, it is quite true. I copied this from the St. Andrew's divinity faculty webpage:
2013 - *Paul and the Faithfulness of God. Vol. IV of Christian Origins and the Question of God. London: SPCK; Minneapolis: Fortress (forthcoming) (three separate ‘volumes’)
How can you not be entertained by this business?!

Apparently, pt 2 of the three volume set is the one that we've been waiting for. The others look rather like they don't fit the COQG series. It's a bit disappointing, really...

ReplyDeleteOur chief weapon is surprise ... surprise and fear ... fear and surprise .... Our two weapons are fear and surprise ... and ruthless efficiency .... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency ... and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four* ... no ... *Amongst* our weapons .... Amongst our weaponry ... are such elements as fear, surprise .... I'll come in again."
Counting is hard.
I wanna know how the guy has time. I just saw him on a youtube video singing a song he wrote called "Genesis" to the Beatles "Yesterday" tune. Just a little gig on the side...of writing thousands of pages per year.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Barth do something similar?
ReplyDeleteIs this Tom's version of a trinity: 3 in 1 and 1 in 3?

ReplyDeleteEvery volume that J.P. Meier writes for the Marginal Jew series seems to double the amount of books to his projected total. I find it hard to complain about though, because more JP Meier can't be a bad thing. I feel the same about Wright. If he writes something, I'll read it, and probably enjoy myself doing it.
ReplyDeleteHe must've gotten the idea from Peter Jackson.
