    Ernest's summary of Doron Mendels makes one long to live next door to a theological library again:

    "The story of the rise of Christianity as narrated by Eusebius, Mendels suggests, is the story of a media revolution, the creative appropriation by Christians of every available form of communication and the invention of new ones. It is the story of a three-centuries-long publicity campaign."
