Book Giveaway - The Wife of Jesus: Ancient Texts and Modern Scandals

I am grateful to Oneworld Publications for donating a copy of my book for this giveaway.     The names of Jesus' children were almost certainly Jesus and Mary. We know that this is the case because a) everyone who has been following cutting-edge scholarship on this question knows that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and b) because children were often named after their parents (see Luke 1:59). Given the difficulty of avoiding name confusion, however, it is also likely that the children went by "Christ" and "Magdalene". Finally, due to the propensity of teenage rebellion, it is reasonable to assume that during a brief phase "Magdalene" adopted the vulgar spelling "Magdalen", a thesis that has been wrongly contested by a few roughnecks who have shamefully questioned the family's degree of literacy during these years.

    Jesus may or may not have been married. Mary may have been his wife or a family member. I'd be interested to have this book, and see some scholarship on the issue.

    Children's names: "Alpha" (she is the firstborn) and "Omega" (he is last one we're having!)

    Jesus' "imaginary" children were likely named Coriander and Thyme – I've heard reports that the Spice Girls are descended from these two daughters of our Lord and King.
